This Sunday chilly and wet weather has me dreaming of wearing pyjamas all day kind of day, a fresh cup of tea, latest copy of Vogue, the sun streaming in and the smell of plants around... maybe I should teleport myself into this lovely home... That's if the owners to mind though.. LOL!!!
Looking at your closet five (5) days week looking for the perfect professional fashionable ensembles can be a lot of stress that by Saturday (or should I say weekend) a lady can as well be forgiven for not wanting to give an effort to her outfit. But the thing about being a fashionista is you can't just turn off the impulse to be stylish, even if you felt like.....don't know about you but I can't...
As such, I went ahead and culled a few of the best lazy-girl looks that are easy to copy, comfortable (No heels allowed okay) and most important stylish.
Organization takes time...no doubt about that, but when it becomes a habit it helps to make life little easier. Well I have a couple of ways I try to be organized and I decided to share with you. Hope you find them useful....so:
1. Organise your space
Start by getting rid of things you don't use and give space for things that you use regularly. This helps you know what you have. Just keep in mind: Reduce visual clutter, reduce mental clutter.
2. Remember to put things back to their right place after using them.
3. Make lists
For me if I need anything or I want to go shopping I make lists. This makes it easier for me to know what I want to buy and not to buy and it helps to forget things easily. Remember the shortest pencil is better than the longest memory, so write it down. The list could be about anything It's just to organize your thoughts.
4. Stop procrastination
Sometimes we don't follow through on our daily tasks because we are too busy procrastinating! It comes in different forms from distractions( social media) to laziness. Here are a few ways to help beat it:
- Remove the distractions
- Set time frames for daily tasks and try to stick to it but try not to rush yourself to complete the tasks at the allocated time, rushing may cause you to re-do the task again. If you can't complete the task at the designated time, take a break and revisit it
- Do the task you are least looking forward to first so you don't put it off. You will be able to enjoy the task you are looking forward to more, without thinking about the dreaded task hanging over your head.
5. Ask for help
There are some tasks that cant be efficiently done by yourself, ask for help from family and friends or anybody you think can help.
Don't worry if you are not perfectly organized after a week...just form the habit and try to stick to it. I still try to stay organized. Note, there would be times when you can't be totally organized but don't sweat it...we are not all perfect
Please feel free to share yours too in the comments too.

Writing your goals down means you are more likely to stick to it
“Write down clearly on clay tablets what I reveal to you, so that it can be read at a glance. Put it in writing, because it is not yet time for it to come true. But the time is coming quickly, and what I show you will come true. It may seem slow in coming, but wait for it; it will certainly take place, and it will not be delayed (Habakkuk 2:2-3 GNB)
So, i'm going to write down 8 (because it stands for new beginnings) good habits and put them out into the world so hopefully it strengthens my resolve and i follow through with achieving them
The good news is all of these habits can be helpful for you too;
1) Exercise regularly
I'm so talented at making excuses about not having time to exercise but i have decided to put my foot down and i have decided to start exercising. Mind you that doesn't mean i am going to register in a gym or something but would at least be dedicating 30 minutes of my day to exercise.
2) Drink more water
People that really know me would know that i can't do without a bottle of coke---bad habit yeah--- well i decided to change that. Drinking water when i first wake and loading up throughout the day is going to be my first step. I would be sticking to a bottle of coke a week--baby steps people, baby steps---
3) Pay Compliments
In the words of Audrey Hepburn " As you grow older you discover that you have two hands, one for helping yourself and the other for helping others". Boosting the positivity of people around you is a wonderful place to begin.
4) 10-15 minutes quiet time
No phone, no laptop, no TV. Just yourself and a calm place to breathe, to contemplate your day and your ambitions. Just like meditation but a lot less confusing
5) Set online boundaries
I really need this one-- i am a terrible procrastinator, but i am improving though by setting times to achieve tasks and allocating periods to check social media.
6) Eat more fruits
The reason for this one is pretty obvious, we can all use more vitamins and good health-- but the how much is a little trickier! Taking an apple a day is a good start, fruit salads are good too.
7) Learn something new.
Setting yourself a new challenge can be really rewarding and can get your brain thinking in new ways. It could be a new hobby or even just something small like learning a new word everyday.
8) Make fewer excuses
One of the answers to success and achieving what you want is to focus on the abilities you do have instead of looking around and blaming other variables. You have to ignore that little voice in your head that says "i can't do it". Telling yourself that your goal isn't possible because of this or that is the first step to failure.
Hopefully this list has inspired you to write down something and make small changes for the better too!
